We collectively write this letter to express our deep appreciation to our local taxpayers, parents and community members that have unselfishly and generously given to support the future of Los Alamos. We embarked upon this journey in 2007 when we had more than $130 million in capital facilities needs. Since then Los Alamos has passed $60 million in bond funds and received $20 million in matching State funds.

The 2009 bond initiative was the first of its kind. Voters agreed to bond to capacity! Once we bonded to capacity we have accomplished great things such as:

LAHS: Rebuild of A,B,C, and D Wings; Remodel of the cafeteria building for ROTC and Book Depository and IMC; Remodel of Griffith Gym lobby and restrooms; Landscaping, Remodel of the Band Wing, HVAC in lower E Wing

LAMS: Rebuild of all regular classrooms and library; Remodel of the Administrative area; Landscaping; Turf installed at football field and rebuild of the track; Paint and renovate gym building and locker rooms; Remodel of the cafeteria and kitchen.

Aspen: Rebuild of the entire classroom wing and library; Remodel of the Administrative area, art room, music room and created a new dining hall; Landscape and new playground; New staff parking area.

Remaining District sites: More than $10 million in assorted maintenance and repair of our remaining district facility.

Wow, look what we have accomplished as a community!

WE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO … it is imperative that we continue on this path. We respectfully request that you continue to support LAPS students and staff by improving the facilities that we spend hundreds of hours within. There will be NO TAX RATE INCREASE for the election in January.

Please VOTE YES for the Bond in January 2017. We cannot do it without your support!
