I would like to take this opportunity to thank my new community for assisting with my fundraiser this past weekend at the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce.
I would like to thank my teacher Annette Sehorn, the Los Alamos Culinary teacher, Mrs. Jones and the many friends and fellow DECA members who assisted with the success of the project.
Ruby Selvage is a dear friend and gracious host to help me in so many ways. She was one of more than 15 students, rolling gingerbread dough and creating houses and kits to sell for the Shelterbox program.
Thanks to the Selvage family, the Metcalf family, the Loy family, the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) for helping me to reach my goal.
Thanks to Rotary Club member, Mr. Skip King for selling his cork boards and ornaments to benefit this project success.
The event was a success in that we sold all of the items. We still have funds to raise to reach our $1,000 goal. Donations can be made until the end of the month by sending them to 77 Isleta Dr., White Rock, NM 87547. Checks may be made to the Los Alamos Rotary or Shelterbox. Those checks made to Shelterbox will receive a letter from the program.
Thank you so much for a warm welcome.
