I would like to thank everyone who helped make The Family YMCA’s 5K Fun Run on July 4 such a fun and successful event. We had over 200 participants that ran, walked, and jogged with costumes, dogs, and kids in strollers.
Thank you to the sponsors – Los Alamos Medical Center, Los Alamos National Bank, and Southwest Safety Services of Santa Fe.
Over 40 items we donated by local businesses for top finishers and random door prizes. These include: Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa, Secret City Kitchen, CB Fox, Reel Deal Theatre, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Ruby K’s, Pet Pangaea, Children’s Dentistry, Pig + Fig, Morning Glory Bakery, El Parasol, The Food Co-op Market, PEEC/The Nature Center, Bob’s Bodacious BBQ, Viola’s Place, Hilltop Spa, Fusion Multisport, Pajarito Brewpub & Grill, and 10,000 Waves.
Volunteers included Dick Martin, Deb Huling, John Whiteside, Mark& Diana Martinez, Rueben Martinez, Amy Anderson, David Mutschlecner, Linda Daly, Stacey & Sam Castille, Bob Day, Rian & Katie Bahran, George Glass, Steven Bennett, Bob Weeks, Kelsee Hurshman, Isaiah Cisneros, Ann Cooke, Kai Pocaterra, and thank you to Orval and Norma Hart for their service as the official race timer.
