Los Alamos
Here we go again! Those aren’t leaves on our trees, they’re banknotes – and we have a lot of trees!
We’re told that we cannot afford to replace the HVAC in the Mesa Public Library; staffing, hours, and frequency of warm water weekends at Larry Walkup only goes down; infrastructure generally crumbles around us; but obligating ourselves to $20 million to build and operate some high-maintenance new toys is a great idea! https://ladailypost.comcontent/voters-consider-multi-generational-pool
It’s such a good idea that it must be in the same exalted class of brilliancy as a $7 million dysfunctional roundabout instead of a quarter of the cost for a proper signal. https://ladailypost.comcontent/letter-editor-roundabout-misconception
One might imagine that the citizenry of the saving-est, most credit-card-interest-avoiding city in the USA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Alamos,_New_Mexico) would have more sense. Maybe they do – we’ll see. Or will my hypothesis be borne out once again – that collective intelligence is somehow inversely proportional to the sum of its parts?
