Letter to the Editor: Rotary Gives Thanks to Community

By LINDA HULL
Immediate Past President
Rotary Club of Los Alamos

In this season of giving, the Rotary Club of Los Alamos gives thanks to the community for its very generous support of our first annual The Spanish Table wine and tapas fundraiser held last month at Dixie Girl Restaurant.

Not only did we sell-out with an attendance of 100 guests, but we made a profit of more that $5,500, an exceptional act of generosity by all of those who supported our ticket sales and the live and silent auctions.

Our Club has earmarked these monies for financial awards given to graduating seniors with outstanding accomplishments in community service and to the support of Horses for Heroes, a Santa Fe-based program for veterans and active members of our armed forces who have suffered physical or emotional trauma in service to our country.

Again, our heartfelt thanks for making The Spanish Table a huge success and for your continued support of Rotary, the world’s oldest service organization with over 1.2 million members in 200 countries.

Please be sure to mark your calendars now for our fifth annual Crab Fest, Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall!
