Letter To The Editor: Point Was Totally Missed

Los Alamos

How very sad that, either attitudinally or intellectually, Mr. (Khal) Spencer totally missed my point: Disrespect and delegitimizing someone‘s work in the community, along with using inflammatory verbiage, is not the way to open dialogue and promote understanding of differing views in our country. However, to address his concerns:

Maternal and child health, including unwanted pregnancies and abortion, are public health matters. Pediatricians are concerned with saving the lives of babies. Hence, Dr. Krohn‘s views are married to her fields of specialty.

As for old or  “non-modern” ideas, Santayana said it best: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Finally, thanks to Mr. (Richard) Nebel for sharing the story of one of our most distinguished founding fathers and his views on medical doctors‘ titles. That‘s the best!
