Letter to the Editor: Message Of Caution

By LESLEY OLSHER
WHITE ROCK

Here is a message of caution for those in White Rock who like to walk their dogs in the evening.

Last week, a friend was walking our dog around the Karen Circle area, off of N.M. 4. This was about 7-8 in the evening. As they continued their walk, she noticed three coyotes following them, stopping when they stopped. Our dog is an older gentle dog, so he does not walk very fast. She was frightened and said that they did not stop following for most of the walk.

We have not experienced this before in the 30 years that we have lived in White Rock. Not sure, is the food supply less this year? Maybe walking in the daytime is the best approach until the longer days of summer.
