Making a Joyful Noise: White Rock United Methodist Church Needs an Accompanist

One of the greatest physicists in the modern time, Einstein, said “If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”

Others have said music is a prayer and a universal language.

Nothing soothes the mind or makes the heart soar more than music. For the congregation at White Rock United Methodist Church, the choir, led by Kelsey Cline inspires us and leaves us with a sense of joy.

Twenty-five dedicated sopranos, altos, basses and tenors sing three Sundays a month. The music is from a variety of sources and styles—from traditional choir to contemporary praise music. They practice 7:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday nights, sharing in fellowship and the common effort of making a joyful noise.

Director Cline spends her days teaching children to sing at Mountain Elementary School and her Wednesday evenings corralling the many voices into delightful harmony.

The church choir however, needs an accompanist. If you love music and can accompany on the piano, the staff of White Rock United Methodist Church would like to speak to you. Call the church office at 505.672.9810.
