Letter to the Editor: Los Alamos – Vote Exponentially Against Charter Amendment 2

By R. Wayne Hardie

Los Alamos

If anybody is undecided about whether or not to vote against Charter Amendment 2, the recent County Council action to approve an additional $225,000 (on top of the $55,000 already spent) for the new brand (“Los Alamos: Live Exponentially”) should help you make up your mind.

You might think that the LANS GRT windfall is enough revenue for our big-spending Council, but you would be wrong. And if this ill-conceived amendment passes, the Council will be able to divert utility funds for more wasteful projects.

Except for members of the County Council, I have only found two groups of people with opinions regarding “Los Alamos: Live Exponentially.” One group has no idea what exponentially means, and thinks the brand is silly and confusing. The other group knows what exponentially means, and thinks the brand is silly and confusing.

Let’s not provide our Council with an additional source of revenue for even more wasteful expenditures.
