Dear citizens,

Like all of us, I’m thrilled with all the rain we’ve had over the couple of weeks, and I hope it continues for the rest of the season. However, this moisture also brings primo conditions for mosquitoes, which breed even in very small sources of standing water. And because mosquitoes can travel hundreds of yards or more, if they breed in my yard, they’ll bite all my neighbors, too.

Let’s all work together to eliminate standing water on our property so everyone has fewer mosquito hassles. That means dumping out everything from bottle caps to old tires, cleaning gutters, managing drainage ponds properly, etc. One helpful checklist is here. I was surprised at what I had missed.
