Letter To The Editor: In Support Of Ellen Ben-Naim

By ROSE MARTIN
Retired Pinon Elementary Teacher

I enthusiastically support Ellen Ben-Naim for the Los Alamos School Board. I would like to confirm the qualifications and experience that makes Ellen an excellent choice.

I’ve taught at Pinon for 25 years and during my tenure I saw first-hand Ellen’s commitment to our school community. Ellen has a master’s degree in education, a life-long career in teaching and a demonstrated commitment to serving our students, parents, teachers and school staff.

At Pinon School she was a knowledgeable force helping teachers and students. If there was a need Ellen was there with her expertise and help. Her volunteer efforts demonstrate her unparalleled dedication to our students and community.

Ellen served on many committees and supported programs such as Science Fair, Math and Science Night, and Culture Fair to name a few. Ellen’s outstanding leadership with the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board is another area where her dedication and commitment has made a difference with the youth of our community.

On committees she proved her leadership by identifying effective solutions and building consensus. Her hard work, and balanced perspective served Pinon and the Los Alamos schools well. I also want to note Ellen’s diverse background provides excellent foundation to effective deal with complex board issues.

Ellen knows the Los Alamos School system inside and out and is known for her service and dedication to education throughout the district. Ellen understands the complexity of teaching today and will work hard to create a positive teaching environment to both attract and retain talented, hard-working staff. As a school board member she will have the vision to secure our children’s education in these uncertain times.

Please vote and please support Ellen Ben-Naim on Feb. 7. Thank you!
