Letter To The Editor: In Response To Mr. Brown

By GREG WHITE
Los Alamos

I am writing in response to Mr. Brown (link).

Unfortunately, both sides are entrenched like a WWI battlefield when it comes to abortion. Which unfortunately is not the problem only a symptom. The problem is since 1959 this country has done many things to kick GOD out of the country and deny he even exists. Mostly manifesting itself in ever growing hatred toward Christians.

While many people will disagree with my next statement, I ask them to investigate their faiths teachings as opposed to how they personally believe what their faith teaches. Orthodox Jews, Hindus, Muslims and most religions all condemn abortion, along with LGBTQ rights. When was the last time you heard on the news a Jewish bakery, or Hindu bakery, or Muslim bakery being sued for refusing to bake a cake for a same sex wedding??? It doesn’t happen despite the fact they would refuse to bake the cake. That’s because Christian bakeries are pre-targeted.

The divide we have in America about abortion, gay rights, immigrants, police use of force, the treatment of Original Peoples and other minorities isn’t going to be solved by protests, writing legislators, Congress, the President, the Supreme Court or any other man-initiated activity. We will only unite and heal when we as a country return to GOD as our first Love.

I am not saying don’t protest or letter write or fight in the courts. I am saying the power of prayer is mightier than the sword. “Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” –James 5:16

Jesus said to follow Him, and we would know the truth and that truth would set us free. But he also said in the end time good would be called evil and evil would be called good. That preachers would, as in his day, make their congregations twice as fit for hell as they were themselves. That in the judgement many would believe themselves saved but he called them goats and sent them to hell. And that the road to heaven was narrow and few traveled it but the path to hell was wide and heavily trampled.

But GOD allows U-Turns! Over and over in the Old and New Testaments he said if we would repent and turn back to Him – He would forgive our sins and heal our land. I ask everyone of every religious belief and even atheists please pray to your God or even just the universe if you don’t believe in GOD (he believes in you) to know the truth. I pray it every day. I don’t ever assume I know all the truth. And that prayer strengthens me to continue to fight for the rights of Los Alamos citizens and work to end suicide in our county especially among our children who kill themselves at five times the national average.
