By DIANN MILLSI’m glad to hear the yard trimming carts have been successful. But your decision to collect recycling every other week is not working for anyone I know.
I was not aware that residents can have up to three recycle carts. But even that won’t solve the problem in my neighborhood. We have limited curb space because most residences here have little off-street parking. If everyone had three recycle carts there would be no place to put them. And having three recycle carts, one yard trimming cart and one trash cart also is problematic for an area that has few garages.
The County spokespeople seem to think that recycling being put in trash carts is not a problem. I can tell you that it is already happening. So, what is happening is that you have cut recycling services to people who live in apartments, condos and those who just have less yard trimmings.
I’m not against the yard trimming roll carts – a good idea. But it is being deployed at the expense of many residents who will never use those carts.
Please continue the weekly recycle carts. Recycling is important.
