Letter To The Editor: Compelled To Shout From The Rooftops

By RONDA TRUJILLO, President
Piñon Elementary School PTO

As this school year comes to a close, on behalf of the Piñon Elementary School PTO, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to many of the wonderful organizations and volunteers in the community for their continued support during the 2015-2016 school year.

We are so appreciative of all of the parents, grandparents, community volunteers and the local businesses and organizations for continuously supporting our wonderful school and students.

We extend our gratitude to the following: Casa Mesita, Coca-Cola of Santa Fe, Friends of the Library, High Mesa Dental Arts, Los Alamos Daily Post, Los Alamos Heart Council, Los Alamos Kiwanis Club, Los Alamos National Bank, Los Alamos Fire Department, Los Alamos Police Department, Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, Metzger’s in White Rock, NM Party to Go, Pajarito Greenhouse/CB FOX, Smith’s grocery store in White Rock, Time Out Pizza, and United Way of Northern New Mexico.  We have had great experiences with each, and encourage you to support them, as their generosity helps so many of our youth.

Although I would like to thank each individual who generously contributed time and/or funding to our organization and school, the list is much too long to mention here; however, please know that your efforts are noticed, appreciated, and make a world of difference to our students. We can’t forget the entire staff of Piñon Elementary; they are hidden, everyday heroes. They support each and every student,as well as each other, while doing one of the hardest jobs in the world. They are an incredible group of people that deserve many, many thanks.

In a time when there is much undesirable news, I am compelled to shout from the rooftops words of praise to the amazing people of our town. The Piñon students and extended families are so lucky to have a remarkable, supportive community! Until next school year, thank you again!
