Letter to the Editor: Beer Co-op Plans Brewery and Taproom

In his March 7 letter to the editor, (“White Rock Needs a Pub”) Jon Hicks asks if there are any hopes for a local bar where patrons can enjoy a pint of beer and a quiet conversation without having to compete with big screen TVs and sportscasts blaring at full volume.

Well, I am happy to report that there is, in fact, a hope for just this sort of establishment in either White Rock or Los Alamos, or both.

But it is up to the citizens of Los Alamos County to help make the vision a reality.

The mission of the Los Alamos Beer Cooperative is to establish a brewery and taproom in Los Alamos County as a place for the community, both individuals and families, to gather and enjoy great, locally handcrafted beer (and root beer!)

We believe in delivering high quality brew at a fair price, and serving it up in a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

We don’t love the idea of 24/7 sports on big screen TVs, but we do love the thought of live, local music, laidback board games, and easy conversation.

We encourage anyone who shares this vision, or who would like to help shape this concept into something more closely resembling his or her own desires, to join our cause.

We can make great local beer in Los Alamos County a reality, but we need your help!
