Letter to the Editor: Asking Cat Owner To Sign Surrender Paperwork At Shelter

By DOROTHY BROWN
Shelter

Whoever dropped off this very sweet elderly gentleman cat at the door of the Los Alamos County Animal Shelter the night of Sept. 18 or morning of Sept. 19, we are asking the former owner to please come in to the shelter and sign surrender paperwork.

Without that signature, we cannot consider this cat to be county property, get him vetted, and place him for adoption ASAP. The shelter is very crowded, and the only way we can keep our euthanasia rate low is to keep our adoption rate high.

We are not a no-kill shelter, and we try to move our animals into good homes as quickly as possible. Please help us move this fine cat along sooner rather than later.  Thank you to anyone who can help.
