The Los Alamos Co+op Market’s Shop with the Chef cooking classes give local chefs the opportunity to share their love of cuisine, starting with picking out the ingredients and taking participants through the process to enjoying the final product.
Three upcoming classes include:
- Jan. 28 – Healthy One-Dish Meals by Emily Schmidt
- Feb. 11 – Valentine’s Day Dinner Made Simply by Steve Watts
- March 11 – The Key to French Cuisine by Edwin Theodore
The classes are 6 p.m. in the Co+op café and registration is available at the Co+op, 95 Entrada Dr. Class size is limited to accommodate the space, so registering early will ensure you get a chance to enjoy these great classes.
The Healthy One-Dish Meals class focuses on making a delicious, healthy, balanced breakfast and dinner using nutritious whole foods. Participants will enjoy the hands-on and demonstration learning in addition to sampling the delicious meals.
The chef, Emily Schmidt, practices family-friendly, nutritious cooking and believes that “food is the answer” to being on track with health and wellness. Emily Schmidt’s recipes are gluten-free.
The Co+op’s General Manager, Steve Watts, is teaching a fun and educational class called Valentine’s Day Dinner Made Simple. This class will emphasize how to plan, prepare, and serve a simple and delicious dinner for your significant other, a great tool for any special occasion. This class is great for all levels of experience.
The Key to French Cuisine is taught by Edwin Theodore, the Co+op beer dinner and deli chef. He will share the history and secrets of the five mother sauces (espagnole, bechamel, tomato, veloute, and hollandaise) in this delicious and educational class. All experience levels are welcome.
