The League of Women Voters will hold its monthly community event, Lunch with a Leader at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Mesa Public Library.
This month’s speaker is New Mexico State Sen. Daniel Ivey-Soto of Albuquerque. Sen. Ivey-Soto will speak on the recent election, upcoming ethics legislation, and public safety.
The senator is a life-long public servant. He is a former director of the State Elections Office, prosecutor and teacher as well as a member of the League of Women Voters. He started two small businesses that focused on helping others and improving the community. Over the past few years, Ivey-Soto has written more than a dozen bills that have passed the Legislature. The bills have been based on a philosophy of good government and accountability.
