The nonpartisan League of Women Voters would like to comment on Republican Party Chair Bill McKerley’s implication that the vote results in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona were fraudulent.

Mr. McKerley cites four claims of malfeasance during the election, but all of that evidence was scrutinized by judges in those states and found to be invalid.

Leading Republicans like Senators Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham and Representative Liz Cheney have urged Americans to accept the results of the election as free and fair and turn to solving the many problems that face the country.

Sen. McConnell is clearly not interested in prolonging any investigation into the discredited disputes over ballots in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona.

As the Senate reconvened after the dreadful events of Jan. 6, he said, “Our nation was founded precisely so that the free choice of the American people is what shapes our self-government and determines the destiny of our nation.”
