League Of Women Voters Hosts Forum For School Board And UNM-LA Advisory Board Candidates Jan. 18

LWVLA News:

White Rock residents will be electing new School Board members to make decisions for the Los Alamos Public Schools. The entire Los Alamos population will select the Advisory Board members who will contribute to making decisions about UNM-LA.

These important decisions on the direction of education in Los Alamos are up to the voters. To be informed, join the League of Women Voters at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Piñon Elementary School on Grand Canyon Drive in White Rock, for a Forum presenting LAPS School Board candidates for the Piñon and Chamisa school districts, and UNM/LA Advisory Board candidates.

Gather at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and to meet the candidates before the forum.

School Board Candidates:

District 1: Ellen Ben-Naim, Jim Hall

District 2: Stephen Boerigter (Daryll Sugar has withdrawn for the race)

(Both districts are in White Rock.)

UNMLA Advisory Board Candidates:

Position 1: Michael Redondo, David Sutton

Position 2: Michelle Hall

Position 5: James Robinson, Sheila Schiferl

(All County residents can vote for all positions.)

Election Day is Feb. 7; early voting begins Jan. 13 in the Municipal Building in Los Alamos.
