LAYSL Pre-Comp Soccer Action

Los Alamos Youth Soccer League pre-competitive teams began Northern New Mexico Alliance League play last weekend.
 
In Los Alamos, the Boys Under-10 White Lasers won 8-0 against the Santa Fe Keenan. Goals were scored by Liam Cunningham, Eric Mecham, James Ito, Will Borovina, and Gus Ovaska.  
 
In Santa Fe, the Boys U10 Green Lasers won 5-2 against the SF Howell with scores by Max Olso, Brendan French, Taelin Stanfield and Dhruv Thulasidasan and strong defense from Z Gartz and Calvin Sisneros.
 
The Girls U12/11 LA Lightning played in Santa Fe against the SF U11/12 and won 7-0. The Lightning played well as a team, making good passes and moving the ball well; goals were scored by Anika Lovato, Dalia Drew Vasquez, Delaney Ulrich, Emma Drake and Nora Johnson.
 
In Boys U12/11 action, the LA Strikers played a tough game at home against a fast and determined SF Romero and tied 0-0. The Strikers saw incredible speed on offensive drives from Julian Singell and Haidan Jorgenson, but the team couldn’t quite find the back of the net.
 
In U14/13 co-ed play, the LA Lightning competed in a close game against the LA Chaos, pulling out a 3-2 victory. Goals were scored by Olivia Bell, Hannah Gram, Jennie Gao, Shawn Newman and Samuel Katko. Noah Lyons was stellar in goal for the Lightning. Great up and down play from both teams produced an exciting match from beginning to end.
 
 In a 2nd match, the LA Lightning lost 6-1 to Team Bonilla of Sante Fe. The lone Lightning goal was scored by William McTeigue on a nice shot from the top of the 18. Katherine Fanning was extremely strong in the center back position, constantly fighting off the strong SF Bonilla team.
