Last Chance To See ‘Crossing Paths’ Beadwork Show

MRM News:

Crossing Paths: Beadwork from the Millicent Rogers Museum and the E. Irving Couse Collections focuses on the history of beadwork in northern New Mexico–an art form not typically associated with the Southwest.

Today, Jan. 31 is the last day to view this exhibit before it closes.

Finely crafted beaded works from the museum’s permanent collection are paired with items collected by the painter and first president of the Taos Society of Artists, E. Irving Couse. Many of the pieces from the Couse collection have never been publicly exhibited. Crossing Paths examines the history of how this art form made its way into northern New Mexico through trade relations with the north and the cultural interconnectivity that has since ensued.
