LASG Hosts State Gymnastics Championships April 1

It is time for the New Mexico Gymnastics State Championships and Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) will host the first virtual gymnastics state championships meet in New Mexico April 11.

Each gym will compete at their home gyms with judges virtually watching through zoom. This meet platform (developed and tested at LASG) has been extremely successful and enabled each gym to individually run independent safe events throughout the season.

Four gyms will compete alongside LASG in the virtual platform:

  • Elite of Roswell;
  • Farmington Gymnastics;
  • Eagle Ridge of Rio Rancho; and
  • Precision Gymnastics of Albuquerque.

Forty gymnasts are competing at the gold, platinum and diamond levels.

The New Mexico State Championships are a regional qualifier meet with New Mexico falling into region 3. Upon qualification at the state meet, the platinum/diamond girls regional meet will be held over the April 30-May 1 weekend in Denver, Colo., and hosted by Active Athletics.

The gold level qualifying gymnasts will compete their regional meet over the May 6-9 weekend in Galveston, Texas, hosted by Alpha Omega.

All meets will follow USAG mask and social distancing mandates regardless of the current state regulations. Good luck to our LASG gymnasts!
