LASG Announces Results Of Recent Tournaments

The Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) girls team competed in several meets this season including Gravitational Invitational, which G-Force Gymnastics Academy in Albuquerque hosted Jan. 14, and Snowflake Invitational, which LASG hosted Feb. 4. LASG has competed strongly in the meets. For Gravitational Invitational, Diamond team, the second highest level in the Xcel program next to newly established Sapphire level, placed first, while the Platinum team placed second, Silver team placed third and the Bronze team placed second.

As for individuals in Diamond team, Sara Gardner placed first all around with a score of 35.00. Gardner won gold medals on floor with a 9.50 score and on bars with a 8.35 score, and a silver medal on vault with a 8.75 score. Chantel Bibeault placed second all around with a score of 34.90. Bibeault won bronze medals on floor with a 9.25 score, on beam with a 8.775 score and on bars with a 8.30 score. Meagan Brown won a bronze medal on bars with a 8.30 score.

In Platinum team, Yuiko Yamaguchi won silver medals on vault with a score of 8.575 and on beam with a 8.55 score. Emily Lueninghoener won a silver medal on floor with a 9.075 scorea and bronze medal on vault with a 8.55 score.

In Gold team, Eliana Rodriguez won silver medals on vault with a 9.00 score and on beam with a 8.80 score. Toby Gelfand won a silver medal on beam with a 8.95 score. Eliana and Toby competed in a different age group.

In Silver team, Milly Bonser won gold medals on floor with a 9.50 score and on beam with a 9.325 score. Flavia D’Angelo won a bronze medal on bars with a 9.50 score. Caroline Eriksen won a gold medal on beam with a 9.25 score. Rylee Brooks won a silver medal on floor with a 9.125 score.

In Bronze team, Amelie Vallejo placed first  all around with a score of 36.825. Vallejo won gold medals on beam with a 9.375 score, on vault with a 9.25 score and on bars with a 9.25 score, and a silver medal on floor with a 8.95 score. Serenity Tao placed third all around with a score of 35.05. Tao won a silver medal on vault with a 8.925 score and bronze medals on beam with a 9.075 score and on floor with a 8.90 score. Nina Gyrya won a bronze medal on bars with a 8.80 score. Christina Samantzidou won a bronze medal on vault with a 8.80 score.

For the Snowflake Invitational, the Diamond team placed first, the Silver team placed second and Bronze team placed second.

Gardner won silver medal on vault with a 8.70 score, and bronze medals on bars with a 8.30 score and on floor with a 9.375 score. Chantel Bibeault won a gold medal on floor with a 9.45 score and a silver medal on beam with a 8.80 score. Meagan Brown won a gold medal on bars with a 8.625 score and a bronze medal on vault with a 8.60 score.

Yuiko Yamaguchi was the lone LASG Platinum competitor. Yamaguchi placed third in all around with a score of 34.25. Yamaguchi won silver medal on floor with a 9.30 score.

In the Gold team, Eliana Rodriguez placed first all around in the Senior Division with a score of 35.25. Rodriguez won gold medals on vault with a 9.15 score and on beam with a 8.65 score, and bronze medals on bars with a 8.45 score and on floor with a 9.00 score. Teagan Brown placed second in all around in Junior Division with a score of 32.725. Brown won silver medal on beam with a 8.60 score. Katelyn Martinez finished fourth in all around and won a silver medal on vault with a 8.65 score. Julia Neale finished fifth in all around and won a gold medal on floor with a 8.975 score. Emma Justus finished sixth in all around and won a bronze medal on vault with a 8.50 score. Rebecca Lanier finished seventh in all around.

In Silver team, Milly Bonser placed first all around with a score ofa 36.85 (Junior Division). Bonser won a gold medal on bars with a 9.45 score, silver medals on floor with a 9.45 score and on beam with a 9.10 score, and a bronze medal on vault with a 8.85 score. Flavia D’Angelo placed fourth all around in Senior Division. D’Angelo won a agold medal on floor with a 9.60 score, a silver medal on beam with a 9.15 score and a bronze medal on vault with a 9.10 score. Rylee Brooks placed second all around in Child Division. Brooks won aa silver medal on beam with a 9.05 score and bronze medals on floor with a 9.35 sore and on vault with a 9.25 score. Caroline Eriksen placed fourth all around in Child Division. Erikson won a gold medal on beam with a 9.10 score and a silver medal in vault with a 9.35 score.

In the Bronze team, Amelie Vallejo placed first all around with a score of 37.55. Vallejo won gold medals on all four events; vault with a 9.30 score, bars with a 9.60 score, beam with a 9.15 score and floor with a 9.50 score. Christina Samantzidou placed second all around with a 35.90 score. Samantzidou won silver medals on vault with a 9.15 score and on beam with a 8.80 score, a bronze medal on bars with a 9.20 score. Serenity Tao placed third all around with a score of 35.40. Tao won a silver medal on floor with a 8.90 score and bronze medals on vault with a 9.00 score and on beam with a 8.60 score. Nina Gyrya won a silver medal on bars with a 9.35 score and a bronze medal on floor with a 8.80 score. Lily Neale won a bronze medal on floor with a 9.30 score.

Level 6-10 & Xcel State Championship will be held March 26-27 in Albuquerque and gymnasts who scored 34 or higher in all around in the State Championship will qualify for the Gold level Regional Championship held April 28 in Texas and the Platinum, Diamond and Sapphire level Regional Championship will be held May 5 in Colorado.

LASG appreciates cooperation from community organizations in its activities such as Los Alamos Golf Course and East Park Pool for the summer sports program and Atomic City Transit for both the after-school and summer sports programs.
