LARSO NEWS:

The Day Out, Adult Day Services Program at the Betty Ehart Senior Center welcomes new members to join them for a few hours a week or a few hours a day.

The program is designed to allow caregivers some respite to work or play while their family member is in a safe and secure area. It also provides an opportunity for seniors to socialize with their peers and take advantage of many educational and recreational programs.

The Day Out program offers members the chance to exercise, listen to live piano music, create crafts and eat a nutritious meal.

The services are available 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those attending the program must be able to feed themselves and use the restroom on their own. Staff is happy to assist with medicine reminders but the center is not a skilled nursing facility.

Day Out Program Director Lily Solá-Chapman joined the LARSO team in June. She brings experience as a clinic manger for Christus St. Vincent, holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration and has a background in nutrition. She is happy to answer questions about the program and to schedule time for a visit. She can be reached at 505.661.0081.
