LAPSA Hosts NMARNG Col. Pia Romero At March Meeting

Col. Pia Romero, Director of Joint Staff for the New Mexico Army National Guard (NMARNG) was the guest speaker at the March 16 meeting of the Los Alamos Public Safety Association (LAPSA).

During Col. Romero’s presentation she discussed how Los Alamos can best utilize the New Mexico Army National Guard in emergencies, and discussed the process and capabilities of the NMARNG.

The purpose of LAPSA is to create a forum for senior managers actively involved in public safety-related positions within the Los Alamos Region to meet, discuss areas of mutual interest, consider such actions as may be in the mutual interest of the group to improve and coordinate public safety activities.

LAPSA members include Police, Fire, DOE, NNSA, N3B, FBI, LANL Emergency Management, Behavioral Health, Chaplain Corp and others. The group meets every month to develop contacts across the public safety sector.
