Los Alamos Public Schools is happy to work with home school students who wish to participate in the High School and Middle School Speech and Debate programs.

The Hilltalkers and Hawktalkers are proud of their reputation for inclusiveness and our coaches enthusiastically welcome all who show an interest, both home school and public school students.

As with all public schools in New Mexico, we are required to follow state law and NMAA requirements and guidelines for eligibility. The New Mexico Activities Association webpage can be found at: http://www.nmact.org/

Currently, about 10 home school students are participating in LAPS programs including football, swimming, basketball, tennis, cross country, and track. Los Alamos Public Schools welcomes all students who are home-schooled and wish to participate on our teams or in our classes.

Any home school students who wish to participate in this weekend’s tournament as part of the Hilltalkers or Hawktalkers are welcome to register with Ann Stewart, Los Alamos High School Athletic and Activities Director. Phone: 505.663.2531 Email: a.stewart@laschools.net
