KIWANIS News:

Kiwanis meets noon-1 p.m., each Tuesday at the Masonic Temple on Sage Street, near the intersection of 15th Street and Canyon Road.

Speakers and topics are occasionally subject to change because of illness, conflicts or weather.

Programs:

Dec. 11 – Los Alamos Public Schools Superintendent Gene Schmidt will speak on the upcoming LAPS mail-in bond election.

Dec. 18 – Committee Meetings.

Dec. 25 – Christmas Day! There will be no noon Kiwanis meeting and no Newsletter.

Jan. 1 – New Year’s Day. No meeting, no Newsletter.

Jan. 8 – Glen Lockhart, a member of the Los Alamos National Laboratory Retiree Group, will speak on the financial health of retiree systems-notably, the LANL retiree system.

Jan. 15 – Becky Wechsler Oertel, daughter of the late Jay Wechsler, will speak on the long-term effects of fire in the forest.
