Education News:

K-Kids Service Club members at Aspen, Barranca and Pinon elementary schools have been very busy this past month.

Aspen K-Kids decorated the sidewalks with chalk with uplifting messages for Earth Day, picked up trash around the school, made posters for Teacher Appreciation Week, and continued collecting and hauling books for the African Library Project.

Barranca K-Kids have been working on posters and bookmarks for the African Library Project, origami boxes, and recently made thank you cards and posters for personnel fighting the Cerro Pelado Fire.

Pinon K-Kids have been hard at work raising funds to help ship books collected earlier in the year for the African Library Project. Club members made and sold friendship bracelets and donated toys to sell. They recently presented a check for $500 to Sharon Allen to help with library shipping costs.

K-Kids, sponsored by Kiwanis, is the largest service organization for elementary students with more than 36,000 members worldwide. All 5 elementary schools in Los Alamos will have a club next school year. If your child enjoys helping others and making a positive difference in our world, we hope your child will consider joining next school year!
