STEP UP GALLERY News:

There are only a few days left to see the student art in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library. The 2025 All Schools Student Art Show is a showcase of insightful, exuberant, thoughtful, skilled artwork by Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) students.

The show opened Feb. 20 and will close end of day Wednesday, March 12.

Visitors have commented enthusiastically in the guest book about the quality of the artwork in this show.

“It’s hard to believe that this is student work,” one visitor said.

Another comment read, “This show is so inspiring; it makes me want to go home and paint!”

Among the viewers’ favorite pieces in the show are the tic-tac-toe boards by Middle School students and the giant watches made by Chamisa Students.

The show that follows the Student Art Show is the 29th Annual Los Alamos Photography Show by the Los Alamos Photo Club, opening March 22.

Step Up Gallery (https://stepupgallery.org) is on the top level of Mesa Public Library at 2400 Central Ave. The gallery is open the same hours as the library: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
