LANL Foundation Call For Applications: Scholarships Available For Nontraditional Students & Native American Students Seeking Business Degrees

LANLF News:

The LANL Foundation, through the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund, is accepting applications starting April 2 for Northern New Mexico Tribal Business Scholarships and Regional College/Returning Student Scholarships.

This year, both one-time awards increased from $1000 to $1500 to better serve the needs of local students.

Tribal Business Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants pursuing undergraduate degrees in business-related fields such as accounting, finance and business information systems from an accredited post-secondary educational institution, in or out of state. Students must be a member of a Pueblo or Tribe and reside within the seven Northern New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe or Taos.

Regional College/Returning Student (RCRS) Scholarships support adult, nontraditional students returning to school to seek additional training or a new career opportunity.

Applicants from the seven-county region pursuing a professional certification or a two-year degree at an accredited regional college must have a high school diploma or GED and a gap of at least one year out of formal education. Students in any field of study may apply.

Applications may be submitted online at www.lanlfoundation.org/scholarships by the May 31, 2018 deadline.

Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund is managed by the LANL Foundation, with oversight provided by an advisory committee of volunteer donors. Scholarships are funded by contributions from Los Alamos National Laboratory employees, retirees and contractors, Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS), local businesses and community members.
