Eastbound traffic on Trinity Drive will be shifted to the center dividing lane at the location where Trinity Drive turns into East Road today.
Construction crews replacing a section of natural gas line along the south side of East Road will excavate into the road to tie the new line into the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities gas distribution system.
Westbound traffic on East Road and Trinity will be unaffected. The lane shift for eastbound motorists will begin at the Central/Trinity fork until just before Canyon Drive on East Road.
Work is anticipated to be complete by 6 PM that same day. No interruptions in gas service for Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities’ customers are anticipated.
Motorists should expect some traffic delays on this route this evening.
Using the truck route (East Jemez Road) to leave Los Alamos on Tuesday afternoon will help avoid congestion in the construction zone.
Drivers are asked to exercise caution when approaching the work zone and be prepared to stop.
