Continuing a community tradition, Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) and Los Alamos High School (LAHS) hosted the 2026 Multiple Avenues for Successful Healthcare (MASH) program.
The goal of this annual program is to expose local students to the multiple exciting and rewarding career opportunities available in their hometown hospital. It is designed for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.
This year’s participants included Dellany Balkey, Chloe Coffey, Ina Christensen, Leah Herrera, Isabella Jaramillo, Willow Landis, Bryan Lee, Paige Mecham, Kai Parker, Elizabeth Rosette, Rebekah Scott, Payton Sutherland, Bryanna Trujillo, Adrianna Tuzel, Michael Witkowski and Campbell Woshnok.
The one-week job shadowing experience was held June 1-5 on the LAMC campus at 3917 West Road. The shadowing program is designed to involve interactive activities and presentations by LAMC healthcare staff that provides students with true exposure to various healthcare careers.
Students selected for the program were able to devote one week of time from approximately 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., which is designed to allow students to properly observe the medical activities in many areas and departments. Lunch was provided each day.
Students attended a hospital orientation on the first morning of the program and there was a celebratory graduation ceremony held on the last day with parents and guardians invited to attend.
