Wilbur Wang of Los Alamos High School, a Level 4 gold medal in the National German Exams, has been awarded an all‐expense‐paid summer study trip to Germany.

He was selected as a national winner after scoring in the 96th percentile on the Level 4 2016 National German Exam.

After qualifying with this high score on the National German Exam, Wang submitted a letter in German to his future host family, responded to several short essay questions in German and in English and was then interviewed for 20 minutes by two university professors before the national committee awarded the prize.

More than 21,000 students participated in the exam this year. The National German Exam, now in its 56th year, rewards students through an extensive prize program and provide a means of comparing students in all regions of the US.
