LAHS’s Devon McCleskey Wins 2016 Jimmy Award!

COMMUNITY News:

Actor Devon McCleskey of Los Alamos High School has won a 2016 Jimmy Award.

The eighth annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards were held Monday at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway in New York. McCleskey won for ‘Best Performance in the Ensemble’. 

McCleskey competed at the Jimmys following his win as Best Actor at the Popejoy Awards in May in Albuquerque.

The Jimmy™ Award is named in honor of James M. Nederlander, legendary Broadway theatre owner and producer.

Winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of notable theatre professionals including Tony Award-winning producers, award-winning casting experts and industry professionals: Kent Gash, Rachel Hoffman, Alecia Parker, Tara Rubin, Nick Scandalios, and Kate Shindle. Additional judges who selected the groups in which the students performed were: Paul Canaan, Wayne Cilento, Kent Gash, Stephanie Klapper, and Cesar Rocha.
