SPORTS News:

The Los Alamos High School Boys XC Team made the most of the delayed and abbreviated cross-country season Friday afternoon at the State Championship at Albuquerque Academy where they became the 2020-21 State Runner-Up Champions.

The team won with 28 points to a very strong squad from Hope Christian, who took the top-3 spots to score 18 points. Albuquerque Academy was third, with 37 points.

LAHS junior Wakei Hettinga was the first ’Topper finisher in 5th place overall and a time of 16:10. He was closely followed by senior Rafael Sanchez in 6th place, junior Ryan Aldaz in 8th and senior Adrian Will in 9th. Junior Keith Bridge rounded out the ’Topper squad.

The 1-4 time spread for the ’Toppers was only 34 seconds – a very fine exhibition of running as a team.
