Los Alamos High School (LAHS) is celebrating homecoming this week as they prepare to compete against the Pojoaque Elks at the football game on Friday.

Congratulations to the following students selected for this year’s homecoming court: Dominic Dowdy, Toni Galassi, Erin Gattis, Luke Gonzales, Abera Hettinga, Yunseo Kim, Lourdes Ledoux, Tara McDonald, Amelia Osborne, Isabelle Price, Seth Yost and Lenny Zhao.

The students on the newly selected homecoming court are continuing the tradition started in 2019 by giving back to an important cause. This year the court is encouraging members of the community to donate to LAPS Foundation, specifically to fund mini grants for teachers. LAPS Foundation has had more requests for mini grants this year as the program has grown. Thanks to these exemplary students for showing support for all teachers in the district so they have the resources they need for their classrooms without having to spend their own money.

The homecoming court has set up a page to collect donations that will be used to fund mini grants. To contribute to ‘Court for a Cause’, visit lapsfoundation.com/court-for-a-cause.

For the last three LAHS homecomings our community has donated more than $5,000 in total to ‘Court for a Cause’. Let’s show some Hilltopper Pride again this year through giving that makes an impact.
