LAHS Students Compete In North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad Thursday

LAHS News:

Several students from the newly formed Los Alamos High School Linguistics Club will compete Thursday in the first round of the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad.

Each student will complete a paper-based test, which consists of several complex linguistics problem sets. Students who pass this Open Round will have the opportunity to advance to the Invitational Round with the chance of being selected to participate in the International Linguistics Olympiad.

Professionals in the field of linguistics created the NACLO to engage high school students in current problems in the field and attract interested students to further linguistics study.

The LAHS Linguistics Club is under the direction of sophomore Katie Delgado and sponsor Anita Boshier. More information about NACLO can be found at nacloweb.org
