NJROTC News:
The Los Alamos High School NJROTC Drill & PT Teams participated in the 2016 Invitational Drill Meet Saturday, Oct. 2 at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.
Hard work, practice, determination and great team work prevailed for the LAHS NJROTC Teams.
Competing against teams from around New Mexico, Texas and Arizona was no small order. The LAHS NJROTC Drill Team participated in the Armed and Unarmed Drill – Regulation/Exhibition, Color Guard – Male/Mixed Teams, PT Male/Female.
The LAHS Male Color Guard Team was proud to bring home two 3rd place trophies for inspection and regulation routine. Male color guard team members include Cadet Lt. Junior Grade Austin Estrada, Cadet Lt. Junior Grade Phoenix Rogers, Cadet Ensign Richard Thompson and Cadet Ensign Andres Vigil.
Individually, the LAHS PT members brought home second place in fastest female run and third place in fastest male run including Cadet Ensign Richard Thompson and Cadet Seaman Recruit Andrea Soto. Kudos to the cadets for a job well done! Their dedication to this program and unit is undeniable and shows at 6 a.m. Monday-Friday and after school practices while still maintaining their great academic successes.
