LAHS News:
The Rotary Club of Los Alamos and the Los Alamos High School Rotary Interact Club will be hosting a Peace Glow at 7 p.m. this Saturday, April 16 at Overlook Park in White Rock.
This event is taking place to raise money for funding relief in Ukraine and its surrounding nations.
The Peace Glow will take place on the Spirio soccer fields. Blue and yellow glow sticks may be purchased for $5.
Starting at 7:40 p.m. with the sunset, everyone will form a heart with the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The gathering and forming of the heart will be videotaped by a drone and a picture will be sent along with all of the funds raised to the Rotary International Disaster Relief Fund to show Rotary and Interact’s support for Ukraine.
Using these funds, and grants providing money, resources such as water, food, medicine, and clothing will be given to Rotary Clubs in Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, the Republic of Moldova, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Belarus and Slovakia to aid in the Ukraine crisis.Â
Members of the Interact Club hope to see the public at Overlook Park this coming Saturday and thank them for their support.
