LAHS Homecoming Week Begins Today!

Members of the Los Alamos High School Student Council and Student Leaders have been working hard to plan a fun-filled week for Homecoming for students, staff and the entire community.
 
Schedule of Events:
 
Billy Bob
Revival of longstanding tradition where senior guys play volleyball.
Monday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. 
Griffith Gym  
$2 Entrance. This is a fundraiser for volleyball.
 
Powder Puff
Revival of longstanding tradition where senior girls play football 
Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. 
Sullivan Field
Free
 
Bonfire
Wednesday, Sept. 14, 8-9:30 p.m.  
Sullivan Field Parking Lot
Enjoy to LAHS marching band, support sports teams, roast s’mores, dance to the DJ.
Thanks to the Los Alamos County Fire Department for keeping everyone safe.

“Under the Sea” Dance
Saturday, September 17 8:30pm to 11:00pm
Upper and Lower Commons at LAHS
$15/each or $25/couple
Tickets sold until Wednesday, September 14 at lunch and academic time. 
You must have your ID when you buy your ticket and when you arrive at the dance. Semi-formal attire. Check the dance dress code in the agenda.

Vote for Homecoming King and Queen 
Voting for Homecoming King and Queen is online on LAHS Website until Wednesday at 3 p.m.  
 
Voting for Coolest Teacher
Voting for Coolest Teacher in the lobby during lunch until Wednesday at 3 p.m.
 
Buy Roses
Roses are for sale in the lobby during lunch and academic time until Wednesday. Notes will be delivered in class on Friday to pick up your roses after the pep rally. This is a fundraiser for Student Council.
 
Stuff the Worry Ghost
LAHS STUDENTS! Write your stresses down and them stuff them into the Worry Ghost during lunch and academic time in the lobby with Natural Helpers until Wednesday. The Worry Ghost will be burned at the bonfire on Wednesday evening.

  • Buy dance tickets & roses, vote for king/queen & coolest teacher, stuff Worry Ghost! 
  • Billy Bob at 6:30 p.m. in gym $2 entrance fee goes to the volleyball team
Tuesday
  • Twin Day! Let’s see some double vision! (Teachers:  Dress as a colleague)
  • Buy dance tickets & roses, vote for king/queen & coolest teacher, stuff Worry Ghost! 
  • Powder Puff at 7pm at Sullivan field
Wednesday
  • Superhero Day! Remember: No masks! (Teachers:  Dress the job if you weren’t a teacher)
  • LAST DAY TO BUY dance tickets & roses, vote for king/queen & coolest teacher, and stuff Worry Ghost! 
  • Bonfire: 8:00- 9:30 at Sullivan field parking lot. Free!  LAHS Band, DJ, pep talks, chants, s’mores, sing-along, and burn your worries away in the Worry Ghost!
Thursday
  • Class Day! Freshmen: 1960s/70s, Sophomores: 1980s, Juniors1950s, Seniors: 1920s (Teachers: Dress your graduation year)
  • Get your homework done so you can have fun all weekend!
Friday
  • Topper Spirit! Wear Green and Gold! Show you school spirit all day!
  • Pep Rally at 12:10-12:50 p.m.
  • Parade at 2:30 p.m. on Central Avenue
  • Football Game at 7 p.m.

Saturday

  • Homecoming Dance! “Under the Sea” 8:30-11 a.m. The dress code is semi-formal
  • YOU MUST HAVE PURCHASED A TICKET AHEAD OF TIME AND YOU MUST BRING YOUR ID TO ENTER!
