LAPS News:

Despite the obstacles created by COVID-19, Los Alamos High School (LAHS) has a 93.5 percent graduation rate for 2021, one of the highest in the state.

“We are happy to see the commitment by both our students and staff to completing the requirements for graduation and obtaining a diploma from LAHS,” Interim Superintendent Jennifer Guy said. “This rate reflects the extra effort that students, staff and families put into learning during the pandemic.”

LAHS Principal Carter Payne said, “We are very proud of all of our students. We work hard to give our students the opportunity to receive a diploma from Los Alamos High School.”

The New Mexico Public Education Department recently released 2021 graduation data, which reports that the state overall maintained a 77 percent graduation rate. The national graduation rate for 2021 will be released in May.
