LAHS Grief Counselors Prepare For Thursday

LAPS News:
Los Alamos Public School Superintendent Gene Schmidt addressed today’s death of Los Alamos High School student Tyler Van Anne.
“We have informed the staff and we are preparing for a good grief day tomorrow,” Schmidt said. “Counselors will be standing by when students arrive at school in the morning.”
Schmidt told the Los Alamos Daily Post late this afternoon that he was attempting to reach out to Van Anne’s family.
A prayer service was held this evening at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Canyon Road. The Los Alamos Teen Center at Canyon Road and Diamond Drive also was open as a location for teens to gather.
The Sandoval County Sheriffs Department is investigating Van Anne’s death, which occured in Sandoval County. No further details are available at this time.
