Los Alamos High School alumni Rick Whittemore was commissioned as a U.S. Army second lieutenant May 11 and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Sociology. Whittemore is headed to Explosive Ordinance School at Fort Lee, Va., and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. He is the son of Steve Whittemore of Los Alamos and Audry Barick of Mesa, Ariz. Courtesy photo
