LAFRW Announces Constitution Day Essay Winners


The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women have announced the winners of the 2016 Constitution Day Essay Contest.

2016 Constitution Day Essay Contest Winners:

Elementary School Grades 4-6 – Tie for 1st Place – Each winner will receive $100:

  • Jack Ammerman, Homeschool Student
  • Julie Nolen, Piñon Elementary

Middle School – Winner will receive $200:

  • Anna Clark, Los Alamos Middle School

High School – Winner will receive $300:

  • Brooklyn Scott, Los Alamos High School

The local FRW organization sponsors the Constitution Day Essay Contest to encourage and challenge students to learn more about the Constitution and to express original, thoughtful ideas in essay writing. The young winners of this contest exemplify good citizenry through their pursuit of excellence and understanding of our Nation’s founding document. The winners will be presented with their awards and invited to read their winning essays at the Constitution Day Dinner Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Constitution Day Dinner, hosted by the Republican Party of Los Alamos, will be held this year at the Los Alamos Church of Christ at 2323 Diamond Dr. The event begins at 5 p.m. Rep. Nora Espinoza who is the Republican candidate for New Mexico Secretary of State will be the guest speaker.
