For the fourth time in its history, the Los Alamos County Fire Department has achieved International Accredited Agency status.
The award was presented this evening at a special ceremony in the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in downtown Atlanta. County Manager Harry Burgess, Fire Chief Troy Hughes, Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider, LAFD Union President Bert Quintana and EMS Supervisor Ben Stone traveled to Atlanta to accept the award on behalf of the department. Accreditation Manager Norma Jean Valdez was unable to attend the event but did participate in today’s commissioners hearings from Los Alamos.
