After 20 years of service with the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD), Division Chief Paul Grano retired today. He said he looks forward to spending more time with his family: his wife, Laurie and their 8-year-old daughter Keira.
In May, Grano was recognized during a Los Alamos County Council meeting for receiving his Executive Fire Officer designation through the US Fire Administration National Fire Academy.
Looking back on his time with LAFD, Grano said it’s the people he will miss the most.
“It’s always the people,” he said.
Looking forward, Grano said he is eager to spend time with his family.
“It’s been a fun ride; it’s time to leave, though,” he said.
Grano, who is orginally from southern California, said he and his family plan to stay in Los Alamos.
