LACDC Hires New Executive Director

New LACDC Executive Director Scott Randall

LACDC News:

The Board of Directors of Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC) announced today the hiring of Scott Randall as the Executive Director of LACDC effective April 1.

Randall will succeed Kevin Holsapple who announced last November that he would be stepping down from the Executive Director position effective in April.

“We were very pleased with the candidate pool,” said Board member Bill Wadt who led the search team. “We received 15 applications in response to what was a local and national search. Following multiple screenings and interviews, we zeroed in on Scott as our consensus pick for the position. Scott brings a strong background and experience for the work of LACDC and I know that he is looking forward to taking on this challenging position.”

Randall and his wife Sandy will be moving to Los Alamos from Hot Springs Village, Ark., where he served as general manager of a non-profit property owner’s association serving 14,000 residents and occupying 40 square miles.

In that capacity, he was responsible for management of common areas, infrastructure and community amenities as well as for community and economic development initiatives.

“Scott has worked for more than 30 years in a variety of positions involving community and economic development, downtown revitalization, economic diversification projects, and tourism development activities. His stints as city manager in Superior, Colo, Auburn Hills, MI, and Clayton, Mo., all afforded him opportunities to tackle projects that we saw as highly relevant to the work of LACDC,” Wadt said. “We have been working hard on the recruitment and selection process, and our Board will continue to work actively with Scott to assure a successful transition into his new role.”

LACDC is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1983 whose mission addresses community and economic development in the Los Alamos area.

LACDC programs include the Chamber of Commerce, Los Alamos MainStreet, the Los Alamos Meeting & Visitor Bureau, Los Alamos Business Assistance Services, and the Los Alamos Research Park.
