LAAC To Open ‘IN/MOTION’ Exhibit Friday Feb. 21

LAAC News:

Ever seen something that appears to be moving but is actually standing still? From drawn motion studies to sculptures of birds in flight to crochet running socks, the Los Alamos Arts Council’s (LAAC) IN/MOTION exhibit encouraged artists to submit works that evoke motion and/or celebrate the moving image.

The community is invited to join LAAC for the opening of its newest exhibit 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 in the Fuller Lodge Art Center, 2132 Central Ave. Light refreshments will be served.

IN/MOTION features 25 New Mexican artists, including 14 based in Los Alamos County and includes more than 40 pieces of wall art and several 3D works. The show will remain in the gallery until March 21.

LAAC is also sponsoring a Poetry Night, 6-8 p.m. Feb. 21 at Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse, 174 Central Park Square. Free tea will be available. The community is invited to attend and chill out, meet new people and discuss some favorite poetry.

The Los Alamos Arts Council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization operating in the Fuller Lodge Art Center.
