LA PIECEMAKERS News:

The LA Piecemakers group is holding its first daytime meeting at noon Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The group will meet at Graves Hall at the United Church of Los Alamos on Rose Street. Fiber artist Carol Martin-Davis from El Rito will be the featured speaker.

Martin-Davis believes that we are greatly influenced by the land where we live. She is inspired by nature, spirituality and the  connection between the two.

Her work encompasses quilts and wallhangings, both pieced and appliqued, and large and small 3-dimensional sculptural pieces, as well as utilitarian items.

In addition, the Leprechaun Challenge blocks, started in January, will be judged. Be sure to bring your block to the meeting or just come and see what everyone has done.

If you will not be there, have a friend bring your block. There will be prizes and a Leprechaun surprise.

Beginning and experienced quilters are welcome. See more information at http://www.losalamos.com/lap/.
